Like many young girls, I didn't realize that aviation was career option. At 18 I was a college dropout working dead end jobs, and was somehow convinced that I wanted to fly. With no experience, bachelor's degree, or money, the military seemed my only option. That only option, however, was bested by a positive pregnancy test. At 19, I hit the pause button on my own life while entering survival mode to take care of myself and my son. While working at a restaurant, I met the founder of Eastern Kentucky University's Aviation Program. Months before his 8th birthday, my son watched me as I accepted my Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, as an Honors Scholar.

If aviation is the plot of my story, a strong social network is the moral. A loving and secure household is the setting. The experiences of my life have taught me that without others' support, life is not only difficult, but also lacking in purpose.

Gilbert Aviation is about breaking the mold in the industry by building lasting relationships. With a customer-centered focus, problems are approached creatively. We draw on previous experiences to constantly learn and improve. This is done while being a good steward of the lives in our hands.
